Middle School
Years 3 – 4
The Middle School at Old Buckenham Hall is truly inspiring. It is a wonderful place, at the heart of the school, where pupils can develop their love of learning and curiosity and in a nurturing environment. Situated in the Stable Yard, this area is dedicated to the children in Years 3 and 4. It is an invaluable phase in their OBH learning journey, which takes them from the Pre-Prep through to the Senior School.

Happiness
Pupils in Middle School enjoy the best opportunities to fulfil their individual potential.
The transition between Pre-Prep and Year3 is carefully managed throughout the academic year to ensure the children feel happy, safe and confident.
In the Middle School, pupils are taught in their own classrooms by their form teacher, who oversees their academic and pastoral needs. They are also taught by subject specialists for French, Performing Arts, Creative Technology, Art, Computer Science, PE, Games and Old Buckenham Explorers.
There is a wonderful sense of community when the children meet together for their Celebration Assemblies, where special achievements are shared and the themes of the OBH Way are explored.
The paths of communication are open between teachers, pupils and parents; there are many opportunities to meet, both formally and informally, to discuss academic progress and any matters of the moment.
The children enjoy a wide variety of activities as part of the bespoke enrichment program. Pupils are also welcome to stay for a supervised prep session twice a week, where key skills are consolidated as they begin to develop their ability to work with greater independence.
As the children near the end of Year 4, they are well-prepared for the move into Year 5 and the increased responsibility that this entails.
In a supportive learning environment, with caring and inspiring teachers, pupils in the Middle School are well-prepared, happy and confident to thrive as their OBH journey continues.
A warm welcome awaits all pupils joining us in the Middle School.
