    Tennis Courts

    An extensive tennis programme runs throughout the year for children in Nursery through to Year 8. Every child has the opportunity to have group or 1-2-1 lessons with our tennis coaches. Teams and individuals have been successful at county and national level.

      Performing Arts

      Performing Arts at OBH offers all pupils the opportunity to achieve musical and theatrical excellence. Pupils are challenged and encouraged, finding motivation through fun and enjoyment at all levels. Our excellent and highly qualified staff team of peripatetic teachers offers additional instrumental, acting and dance tuition throughout the year. Concerts, showcases, competitions and productions are just some of the many highlights of our academic year.

        Britten Hall

        Named after former pupil, composer Benjamin Britten, the Britten Hall is a multi-purpose auditorium. The whole school meets for assemblies, pupils deliver stellar performances and make the most of the space for indoor sports practice. The Britten Hall incorporates indoor cricket nets, tiered seating, stage and lighting, and academic classrooms.

          The Hall; Main entrance and Boarding Houses

          Visitors to the school will find a warm welcome in The Hall. A central part of the school, housing the Library, Headmaster's Study, Drawing Room and Dining Room and dormitories.

            Middle School

            The Middle School at Old Buckenham Hall is truly inspiring. It is a wonderful place at the heart of the school where children in Years 3 and 4 can develop their love of learning in a safe and nurturing environment. The Stable Yard is a lovely area where children can sit at picnic benches or play with friends. The gardens provide the perfect place for imaginative play time adventures.

              Art

              The Art Studio is a light and airy space, situated in the Sewell building. Pupils from Pre-Prep through to Year 8 develop their drawing, sculpture, print and painting skills through an extensive creative curriculum. An annual Art Exhibition of all our children's work is held in the Britten Hall in the Summer term.

                Science and Creative Technologies

                The Bunting Block refurbished in 2010 to provide the children with three well equipped and modern Science laboratories. Children from Nursery to Year 8 enjoy lessons in the building shared with Creative Technology department. This allows the children to access an additional computer suite and the main workshop houses a state-of-the-art laser cutter, 3D printer as well as traditional wood work machinery.

                  Nursery & Pre-Prep

                  The Pre-Prep has classrooms for children from Nursery to Year 2. The spacious classrooms offer a warm and inviting learning environment where children feel at home and eager to learn. The Rainbow Playground, Walled Garden, Teepee and Outside Classroom offer children plenty of space to explore, play and take their learning beyond the walls of the classrooms.

                    Rory's Place

                    Prep school pupils thoroughly enjoy playing at Rory's Place during break, lunchtime and evenings.

                      Astro

                      A full size astro providing an all weather surface for sport, mainly used for hockey during the Michaelmas and Lent term. Sport for all is integral at OBH. Every child gets to play in a team against other schools throughout the term.

                        Thatched Pavillion

                        A very historic building on the grounds of OBH, it is the pavilion used by England and Australia in the 1921 Ashes. It was moved to Brettenham Park following the fire at Old Buckenham Hall, Norfolk in 1952.

                          Outdoor Classroom

                          There are 2 outdoor classrooms at the school where the 'Old Buckenham Explorers' and 'Mini Buckenham Explorers' outdoor education programmes take place. The programmes teach children survival and leadership and also include expeditions.

                            Golf Course

                            We have a nine-hole golf course which is available for the children to practise on at break and lunchtimes. Children can choose to take golf as a Saturday afternoon activity, coached by a golf pro.

                              Clay Pigeon Shooting

                              Pupils can choose Clay Pigeon Shooting as a Saturday afternoon activity. They have the opportunity to take part in competitions against other schools.
