Scholarships and Destinations
At Old Buckenham Hall, we pride ourselves on sending children to the leading schools – day and boarding – across the country. Our broad and thorough curriculum prepares children for a range of entrance tests, as well as Common Entrance at the end of Year 8. Children are given plenty of opportunities to practice and prepare for all assessments and we are proud of our excellent academic results.
In all areas of the curriculum, we maintain a “Gifted and Talented” register where we track the progress of children who may show considerable potential and be considered for a scholarship application to their future school. In these areas we run scholarship programmes which are designed to extend knowledge, understanding and application. These scholarship sessions start in Year 7 and continue until the assessments in Year 8.
We currently run these sessions for academic, art, drama, sport, music, STEM and leadership scholars. We have an outstanding record of scholarship success, with a high percentage of our leavers achieving scholarships or other recognition for their achievements and talents.
OBH has an outstanding record of scholarship success. The 2024 Leavers secured 12 scholarships across a range of disciplines including academic, art, drama, music, sport, or a combination of these. The table below shows the variety of schools our pupils have moved on to in recent years:
